Vaseline Almond Smooth Body Lotion

This Almond Smooth lotion from Vaseline contains almond oil, vitamin E and vaseline jelly.  Together these ingredients work to heal and nourish dry skin.   

My Thoughts

I use body lotion on a regular basis and was excited to try this new lotion from Vaseline.  First off, I am usually not a fan of almond scents but this scent was so lovely.  It was slightly sweet, but also a delicate scent.  It was not overpowering at all.  It left a light fragrance on my skin.

Since this is a body lotion, it is not as thick as a cream.  It wasn't runny and would stay put on the skin.  I did find that it took longer to absorb into my skin compared to other body lotions.  But after it was absorbed, my skin felt soft and smooth.  There was no sticky or tacky feeling.  I also found that a little lotion went a long way so this bottle will last for a while.

I applied this lotion in the morning after a shower and found that my skin stayed hydrated all day.  I also used this as a hand cream and it worked wonderful too.  My hands even felt soft and smooth after hand washing!

This lotion bottle features a revolutionary smart pump that locks and unlocks with a 90 degree turn.  I appreciated the oversized hand pump on this bottle.  It made dispensing the product very easy and would be perfect for anyone suffering from arthritis in their hands for example.  Due to the size of the pump I did find that it dispensed a lot of lotion so only small pumps were necessary.  Also, once I open a bottle of lotion, I am apt to always leave it in the "on" position so I didn't find the lock and unlock system to be of value to me.  

Overall, I really enjoyed this lotion and especially the lovely scent.  I would recommend this product to anyone to keep their skin hydrated.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal UV Defense Moisturizing Cream

This facial moisturizer uses Vichy's mineralizing thermal water which is rich in 15 minerals and helps to strengthen the skin's barrier to protect it from daily aggressors causing dry skin.  This formula is fortified with Vitamins E and B3 and boosts 48 hours hydration.  It is marketed as having an oil-free lightweight texture that is suitable for all skin types.  Also, it has broad spectrum UVA + UVB sun protection.

My Thoughts

I use moisturizer on a daily basis and have used many brands over the years.  This Vichy moisturizer rates in my favourites!  I loved the pump dispenser which is a much cleaner and more sanitary way of dispensing the product.  I found the moisturizer to be free of fragrance so it was not irritating at all in that regard.

The texture of the moisturizer was perfect--not too runny and not too thick.  I would describe it as a lightweight cream.  It absorbed very quickly into my skin and left no sticky or tacky residue.  My skin felt soft and supple after application and made the perfect base to apply my foundation.  I also loved that this product had an SPF 30 in it so I am protected from the damaging rays of the sun.

I used this moisturizer daily in the morning and found that it hydrated my skin all day long.  I do have oily, acne prone skin and this product did not aggravate these pre-existing skin issues.  My skin was not extra oily and it did not cause breakouts.

Overall, I am so pleased with this moisturizer.  It was a joy to use!  I would highly recommend this product to others, especially those with my oily, acne prone skin type as it worked beautifully.  I'm happy to incorporate this into my daily routine.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation

L'Oreal has a new to me foundation called, "Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation."  This foundation is designed for sensitive and mature skin.  It is infused with a hydrating serum and vitamin B3.  It claims to cover flawlessly, even skin tone and smooth without settling into lines.

#10 Ivory

My Thoughts

I use foundation on a daily basis so have tried my share of brands over the years.  I must say I really enjoyed using this foundation.  I received the shade #10 Ivory.  I normally wear ivory in other brands as well.  This ivory looked a little more yellow toned than I am use to but when applied to my face it blended right in and looked very natural.  It was a perfect match!

This foundation comes in a plastic squeeze tube which makes it easy to dispense.  The formula is not too runny or too thick, it was the perfect consistency.  I used a brush as usual to apply this foundation and it blended in smoothly.  I would say I achieved medium coverage with this foundation.  I used a setting powder on top of the foundation and found that there was a bit of resistance when applying the powder with my brush.  I found my skin was slightly sticky and thus the drag on the brush.

This foundation has a lightweight feel to it and it feels like I am not wearing make-up at all!  I typically wear a full coverage, matte foundation and it feels heavy on my face.  This foundation was a treat even though I only got a medium coverage compared to the full coverage I am use to and prefer.

I do have acne prone skin with what I would define as rolling scars.  Other foundations tend to settle in my scars and accentuate them.  This foundation did not do that at all.  My skin looked natural without the settling of the product in my scars.  In fact, my skin felt extra soft and smooth when using this foundation and it did not cause any pimples during the time frame I was using it.

I do have oily skin and found that I needed to use an oil blotting sheet half way through the day.  My skin would get extra shiny and for this reason I would probably avoid using this foundation during the warm summer months when my skin gets oilier to begin with.  But for the colder months, I can deal with using an oil blotting sheet once a day.   I really liked this foundation and can deal with this minor issue so it's not a deal breaker for me.  I would love to see a matte formulation though for those of us with oily skin. 

Overall, my pros for this foundation out weight the cons and I would recommend it to others to try especially those with dry, dehydrated skin.

DERMA-E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask

DERMA-E is a new brand for me.  I have heard of it before but never given any of their products a try until I was selected to test this charcoal face mask for Social Nature.  This is a dual action mask.  It is first a detox mask that purges pores of toxins and then gently exfoliates with apricot seed powder to reveal softer more radiant skin.  This mask boasts that it is gluten free, soy free, GMO free, vegan and cruelty free.

I have tried a number of face masks over the years and this mask is easily one of my favourites. The mask is dark grey in colour as it is a charcoal mask. It has an earthly smell but is not unpleasant. The mask is gritty in texture but applies smoothly to the face. I did find that after cleansing my face and applying this mask that I experienced a bit of a tingling sensation.  I don't have sensitive skin but if you do, you may experience more of a reaction.  The tingling sensation did dissipate as the mask dried.

What I love about this mask is how quickly it dries on the face. Some masks take so long to dry, like 20 minutes. This mask is completely dry in about 5 minutes. It hardens on the face but is not overly tight feeling. After the mask dried, I moistened my fingertips with water and massaged the mask into my skin before rinsing clean. The gritty texture allows for a thorough exfoliation.

In recent months, I have been using this mask as an overnight spot treatment for pimples.  I simply dab a bit of the mask onto any active pimples.  I feel it helps to dry them up faster with this method.

Overall, I am very pleased with this dual function mask. I loved the mask and then the second part of exfoliation. I have oily skin and I feel that my skin got a deep cleaning with this product. My skin felt so incredibly soft and smooth after using this mask. I particularly love how quick the process of using this mask is and the short drying time. As a result, I can easily incorporate it into my face care routine a few times a week.

Vichy Normaderm Routine for Acne Prone Skin

I was sent these Vichy Normaderm products to test on my acne prone skin.  Acne has been something I have battled for over 25 years!  I thought as I got older it would significantly improve.  I have tried everything from over the counter treatments to prescription pills and creams.  I even gave Proactiv a try with no effect.  While my acne has become more manageable, I still suffer from pesky breakouts.  I was happy to give these products a whirl, because why not, it can't hurt after all the products I've tried over the years!

Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel

This cleansing gel contains salicylic acid, glycolic acid and LHA. Together these ingredients work to remove excess oil on the skin, minimize the look of large pores, reduce acne scars and fight pimples and blackheads.

My Thoughts
I have used many anti acne cleansers over the years. This Vichy Normaderm cleanser rates up near the top of my favourite cleansers. The scent was fresh and clean. It lathers well which is an absolute must for me in a cleanser. The texture was perfect--not too runny and not too thick. I appreciated the pump dispenser as it made for a quick and easy way to dispense the product. I used this product in the morning. My skin is quite oily after waking up in the morning and this cleanser cut right through the oil to leave me with normal feeling skin. I noticed that after using this cleanser my skin feel soft and smooth. 


Normaderm Purifying Pore Tightening Lotion

This product contains the same active ingredients as the cleanser: salicylic acid, glycolic acid and LHA.  This product is like a toner that is applied to the skin after cleansing and is not rinsed off.  This toner mattifies the skin leaving it shine free, tightens pores, and fights breakouts with its antibacterial action.

My Thoughts
I always use some sort of toner/astringent after cleansing my face. I used this product after cleansing with the Vichy Normaderm cleanser. The product easily dispenses onto a cotton ball. To me this toner has a floral scent which is very pleasant considering the medicinal ingredients in it. I have found that while using this toner my pores look smaller than usual. I am very pleased about that!  I also find that it makes my skin look matte and keeps the oily shine away. My skin also feels softer and smoother. I'm pleased with the positive effects I have seen from this toner.


Normaderm Corrective Anti Acne Treatment

This product is a moisturizer but oh so much more than just a moisturizer.  It contains salicyclic acid + LHA to unclog pores and eliminate acne causing bacteria.  It also has Phe Resorcinol which helps to reduce the appearance of acne scars.  Finally it has Air Licium which helps to reduce oil production and minimize large pores.  

My Thoughts
I loved the pump dispenser as it makes it easy to pump out just the right amount of product.  It is also a more sterile way of dispensing the product as my fingers won't contaminate the product as it would in a jar.  The lotion has a fresh clean scent to it.  The texture is perfect--not too runny or too thick.  I used this lotion as the final step in my routine, after the cleanser and toner.  I found that the lotion takes a little extra time to absorb into my skin compared to other moisturizers.  It definitely does tighten my pores and make my skin look matte.  I do tend to get shiny skin within a couple of hours of washing my face and this lotion kept my skin matte a little longer than usual.  I also found that while applying my foundation with a brush, there was a little drag after I had used this lotion.  My brush didn't glide over my skin as smoothly as it usually does.  This is not a big issue and I have gotten use to it.  I do have multiple acne scars and some new scars from recent breakouts.  With this lotion I found that the new scars were less intense in colour but it had no effect on the older scars.   

Overall, I am happy to add this trio of products to my acne fighting routine.  While I continued to develop pimples while using these products, the pimples were smaller than usual and healed up much more quickly.  They were also less likely to leave a scar.  I am so happy with the results that I have swapped out the products I was using for these Vichy Normaderm products.

Love Beauty & Planet Smooth and Serene Shampoo & Conditioner

I received this shampoo and conditioner set to test from Chickadvisor a while back.  The scent is argan oil & lavender.  The lavender scent is a very realistic scent.  

This company is very committed to producing natural based products and having a near zero carbon footprint.  From the back of the packaging it says, "Our goal is a carbon footprint so small, it's like we weren't even here."  The bottles are actually made with 100% recycled plastic.  

This brand also uses no silicones, parabens or dyes in their shampoo or conditioner.

Shampoo

In the past, I haven't always had the best experience with more natural based hair products so I wasn't sure what to expect from the Love Beauty and Planet shampoo. I was pleasantly surprised however! First off, the packaging is beautiful and makes my shower look like a spa. Next, even though I am not a fan of the scent of lavender, I found the scent to be subtle and not too overpowering. 

The shampoo lathers really well and rinses easily from the hair. I really felt that my hair got a thorough clean with this product. The consistency of the shampoo is perfect: not too runny and not too thick. After my hair had dried and throughout the day, I could smell the subtle scent of lavender in my hair. So it has lasting scent power.

My hair tends to be frizzy and this shampoo calmed the frizzies and left my hair soft and manageable. Sometimes products that control frizz can weigh the hair down but not this product. My hair felt light and airy.

Overall, I am impressed with this shampoo and would definitely recommend it to others. Since I'm not a huge fan of lavender, I would love to try other hair products from this brand in another scent.


Conditioner

This conditioner has the same lavender scent as the shampoo. The scent is subtle and not too overpowering as I found with the shampoo. The consistency of this product is great. It is not too thick that it won't spread and not too runny that it won't stick to the hair. 

After shampooing my hair, I applied the conditioner and left it on my hair for 3-4 minutes. It rinsed cleanly from my hair and left no residue behind. 

I did find that while using my pick comb on my wet hair that my hair had a few more tangles than usual. Maybe this conditioner is not as moisturizing as my usual products? However, after my hair dried, it felt soft and smooth. My frizzy hair was controlled and easy to manage. I also had the subtle scent of lavender in my hair throughout the day.

Overall, this is a product I would be pleased to use in my hair care routine and would recommend it to others to try.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Hydrating Care Moisturizer

I found this to be a great moisturizer for my skin. I tend to have oily skin which is very acne prone. I have to be careful not to use moisturizers that are too rich or creamy. This moisturizer has a light, silky texture. It is more of a lotion than a cream which is perfect for my skin type.

The moisturizer absorbed quickly into my skin and did not leave a greasy or sticky residue. My skin had a matte finish to it and was not shiny at all like some moisturizers. My skin felt soft and smooth after application.  This product is unscented which is great for those sensitive to scents.

This product kept my skin hydrated all day and did not aggravate my oily skin. I did notice that I had three small, red, almost pimple like spots appear on my skin while using this moisturizer. They never developed into anything more and disappeared in a day or so. I can't be sure it was from the moisturizer as they may have developed anyway. Nonetheless, I had no further issues with continued use.

Overall, this is a moisturizer I am happy to recommend and add to my skin care routine.

got 2b Volumaniac Mousse

This mousse really holds your style for hours!  I have a slight curl to my hair and often times I will use gel on my towel dried hair to bring out the curl. Having this mousse to test, I used it in place of my usual gel. I applied it to my hair and scrunched my hair to increase the curls. I found that it held a curl in my hair all day long.

I really liked the smell of this mousse. To me it reminded me of the scent of apples. It was a very fresh and fruity scent. I did have some trouble depressing the nozzle to dispense the product. I couldn't just use my index finger to press down on the nozzle, very little product came out this way. I had to use the palm of my hand to dispense the mousse and apply a lot of pressure. Maybe it was just my can that had this issue?  Nonetheless, it did take a lot of effort to get the mousse out of the can!

At the end of the day my hair still looked great and my hair looked curlier than if I just used my gel. I didn't find the mousse added a huge amount of volume as I would expect from a volumizing product. But that's OK, my hair still looked great.

When I went to comb out my hair I could tell the mousse had a really firm hold. I struggled a bit to comb out my hair and lost a number of hairs in the process! Overall, I enjoyed this mousse and will probably use it in place of my usual hair gel to achieve and hold the curly look I want.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Lotion

The Claims

According to the information on the tub, "this rich, creamy formula with active naturals oatmeal and nutrient-rich yogurt revitalizes dry skin and leaves it hydrated for 48 hours."


My Thoughts

This lotion certainly does a great job at keeping my skin hydrated and moisturized for hours. I would have this lotion on for 24 hours before I took my next shower and my skin felt just as hydrated at the end of 24 hours as it did at the beginning.  I imagine if I left the lotion on longer, my skin would still be moisturized.

I received this lotion in the Apricot and Honey scent.  This lotion has a delicate fruity scent with a hint of sweetness. I love sweet and fruity scents so the scent was a real win for me. The body lotion comes in a tub but I would prefer to see it in a tube as it would be easier to store, apply, and more readily portable. The packaging however does not affect the effectiveness of the product.

The lotion is a great consistency. It is classified as a lotion and I would say this lotion is a little thicker than other lotions I've used. It does however spread very easily on the skin and absorbs fairly quickly. I did find this lotion takes a few minutes to absorb into the skin and my skin felt just slightly tacky/sticky minutes after application. My hands felt a bit greasy and I needed to wash them after applying lotion to my body. That said, this lotion is still great and keeps my skin hydrated for an entire day.

Overall, this is a lotion worth trying. If you have oilier skin, this product may be too greasy for you but dry skin types will benefit most from this lotion. For me, it would be best used in the winter when my skin is dryer.

Vim Power & Shine Anti-bacterial Multi-purpose Spray

I love how well this product cleans and love that it is anti-bacterial and will kill 99.9% of bacteria. I used this spray on the sink and toilet of our small bathroom. It did a really good job on the sink and toilet removing dirt quickly and easily.

The trigger spray is powerful, more so than other brands of cleaners I've tried. This cleaner has a pleasant smell and to me reminds me of the scent of lemons. On the spray nozzle the very faint words of “stop” and a symbol for spray are present. If you didn't look hard enough or at the right angle, this word/symbol would be missed. I would like to see the word/symbol in black so it is bold and stands out.

I also used this cleaner on the hood of our oven which was covered in a greasy residue. I was really impressed by how effectively this cleaner removed the grime. I did have to make a couple passes over the grime but both times required minimal scrubbing and the hood probably hasn't been cleaned in well over a year!

Overall, this is a great multi-purpose cleaner that I would highly recommend to others.

For my canvas print, the hardest choice was choosing a photo!  The ordering process was very simple and straight forward.  First I selected my canvas size:

You can choose a preset size or go for a custom size.  After selecting my size, I had the option to upload a photo from my computer, Facebook or Instagram.  I could also choose a gallery photo which are stock photos of various categories such as mountains, sunsets, landscapes, beaches and patterns.  This would be an option if you didn't have your own photo to use. 

From here you choose the type of wrap you would like for the canvas (ie. height of edges, rolled or hanging canvas) and border.  For each option it will tell you if there is an extra fee.  They are very clear and upfront about options that cost extra. 

From here you choose how you want to hang your canvas (hooks, sawtooth hanger, easel etc.) and what finish you want for your print.  For example you can choose to leave it as is with original colouring or change to sepia or grayscale.  Finally, under the options tab you can choose to have your canvas laminated or have photo retouching done.  

Overall, the process was very simple and straight forward.  If you run into difficulties you can call their 1-800 number which is available 24 hours a day.  You can even live chat with someone.  Can I tell you how much I love when a website offers live chat!  It makes my experience as a customer just that much better knowing I can get my issue resolved quickly. 

My Canvas Arrives

It was estimated that my canvas would arrive in 2 weeks.  It was very accurate and it actually arrived a day early.

My canvas came very well packaged so I know CanvasChamp cares very much about their product.  Here's how my canvas arrived:

I chose a photo of crab apple blossoms from a tree on our yard.  I am so impressed with how the photo turned out!  The image is crisp and clear and the colour vibrant.

got 2b Volumaniac Hairspray

This hairspray definitely has a firm hold! Because the hold is so firm it helps to volumize the hair and hold volume. I use hairspray on a daily basis on my bangs. A few times a week I will use my flat iron as a curling iron to add a little flip to my bangs and keep them out of my eyes. Some hairsprays seem to leave a white residue in my hair after using the flat iron but I was pleasantly surprised to see that this hairspray did not leave any residue at all.

I really enjoyed this smell of this product. It smelled light, fresh and fruity to me. A much better scent than those chemical smelling hairsprays.

As soon as you spray this hairspray on your hair it provides a firm hold. Even though the hold was very firm, it stilled looked natural. As the day wears on, the hold loosens up somewhat but that is to be expected. One day I used this hairspray on a rainy and windy day and my hair style still held up.

Overall, I loved this hairspray and would continue to use it and recommend it to others to try.

Love Beauty & Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Relaxing Rain Body Wash

I received this Love Beauty & Planet body wash from Chickadvisor to test a while back.  This brand is new to me and they are very focused on producing a natural and environmentally friendly product.  The back of the bottle states, "Our goal is a carbon footprint so small, it's like we weren't even here."  The bottle in fact is made from 100% recycled plastic.

This body wash also contains no sulfate cleansers, no parabens and no dyes.  It does use organic coconut oil, organic argan oil, ethically sourced lavender, and plant based cleansers.  They also do not test their products on animals.

My Thoughts
I use body wash on a daily basis so I have used many body wash brands over the years. I have a few criteria that I use to determine if a body wash is good. First it has to have a great scent. This body wash is lavender scented and while I'm not a huge fan of lavender scents, I found the scent to be subtle and not too over powering.

Second of all, I want my body washes to have a great lather. This body wash certainly lathers very well. I use a body pouf and a little bit goes a long way. This body wash feels so soft and silky on my body. It really felt so much silkier than other products I have used. My skin felt hydrated after using this body wash.

Overall, I really loved this body wash! Despite not being my favourite scent, the formula really is a winner in my books. I would love to try other body wash scents from this brand. I would definitely recommend this body wash to others to try.

Febreze Fabric Refresher

I received this Febreze Fabric Extra Strength Refresher from BzzAgent to test and provide my honest feedback.

First off, I really liked how powerful this spray was in terms of the product being sprayed from the trigger.  It was a strong spray that covered a wide area.

 I tried this spray on my bedding (the comforter hadn't been washed for a while) and it smelled so fresh and clean after.  I could smell the fresh fragrance a few hours later but after that, the fresh scent was gone.

I tried this spray on some smelly shoes.  I sprayed it on 3 separate occasions prior to wearing them and unfortunately this spray did not cover up the odour.  They still smelled bad!  I was disappointed as I really wanted to freshen up these shoes.

I also tried this spray on a sofa that my dad sits on with his barn clothes.  The sofa smelled great immediately after spraying but again the fresh, clean scent did not last and the odour I was trying to cover up, returned.

I was overall disappointed that this spray did not cover up odours for a long period of time.  It seems to work best on lightly odoured items not heavy duty smelly items.   And even at that, the fresh clean scent will not last.

Will I purchase this after finishing this bottle?  Probably not.  It didn't work the way I wanted it to and for this reason I don't feel it would be a good use of my money.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Ultra Moisture Products

I received the above products to test: a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment.  This particular ultra moisture line is for dry, stressed hair.

These products contain liquid keratin which according to the packaging, " reconstructs your hair and renews it by repairing damaged areas deep inside the hair and on its surface."

My Thoughts
This shampoo is great for making my hair look healthy and strong! After using this shampoo I have really noticed that my hair feels thicker and much stronger. It looks healthier and has just a bit more shine to it.

This shampoo has a unique scent to it that I can't quite put my finger on. It smells spicy and yet powdery at the same time if that makes sense. It is a pleasant scent and is not overpowering. The scent does linger in the hair long after it has dried. This shampoo lathers well and rinses easily from the hair.

My hair feels soft after using this shampoo and the corresponding conditioner. It also helps to moisturize my hair but doesn't weigh it down in the least. Some moisturizing shampoos can make your hair feel greasy and weighed down but not this one. My hair actually had a bit more volume than usual.

Overall, I liked this shampoo but would say it is not a top favourite of mine. I feel there are other shampoos out there that cost less that work just as well for my hair. That said, I would still recommend this shampoo for the benefits I received. 

Conditioner

My Thoughts

This conditioner makes my hair look soft and healthy. I really enjoyed this conditioner. It has a slightly stronger scent that the shampoo. To me it smells spicy and powdery like the shampoo. It is quite pleasant and lingers in the hair after it has dried.

The consistency of this conditioner is perfect. It is not too thin and runny and not so thick that it won't spread easily. It feels somewhat different than other conditioners as I thought it felt more slippery in my hands.

After towel drying my hair I find that my comb goes through my hair just a little bit easier and thus fewer hairs come loose. My hair feels thicker and stronger when used with the corresponding shampoo. I also noticed my hair was not as dry, especially the ends of my hair. My hair was moisturized but not weighed down.

I would continue to use this conditioner and recommend it to others to try.  

Leave-in Treatment

My Thoughts
This product is a leave in spray that can be used on wet or dry hair. I use it after shampooing, conditioning and towel drying my hair. It needs to be shaken prior to use as it separates. Once shaken it has a milky consistency. It has the same great scent as the shampoo and conditioner.

I found that this treatment really helped to make my hair easier to comb when it was wet. It worked like a wonderful hair detangler and I lost much fewer hairs when using this product prior to combing my hair.

This product also hydrates the hair and it worked to give my hair just that extra boost of moisture. My hair was not greasy or weighed down at all from using this treatment. My hair was much more manageable as a result of this leave in spray.

In conclusion, I would continue to use this product and highly recommend it as a way to detangle and make your hair more manageable.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash

The Claims

According to the back of the bottle, "this unique formula with active naturals oatmeal and nutrient-rich yogurt helps to revitalize your dry skin and leaves it feeling moisturized for an enriching experience....".


My Thoughts

This body wash is amazing! I use body wash on a daily basis so I have used my share of body washes and this one rates as one of my favourites. First off, I love the flip cap that is easy to flip open. Some body washes leave you struggling with wet hands to get it open but not this one.

I love the scent of this body wash. I received this body wash in the Apricot and Honey scent.  It is fruity and sweet scented.  The scent is not overpowering at all but rather light and delicate.

My favourite aspect of this body wash is how well it lathers. The product itself is more of a gel than a cream. It is a great consistency-not too thin or too thick. I found that a little bit goes a long way. The lather was thick and rich. The body wash rinses cleanly from the skin as well with no lingering residue.

After using this body wash, my skin felt soft and moisturized so it definitely lived up to its claims.   Although this product is a bit pricey at $8.99 at my local Zehrs store, and more than I would usually spend for a body wash, with a sale and a coupon, this is a treat that I would indulge in. Overall, I recommend this product 100% to others to try.

Vim Power & Shine Bathroom Spray

This product makes my bathroom sparkle and shine! I used this bathroom spray on my sink, tub and toilet. First off I noticed how powerful the trigger was resulting in a powerful spray to whatever surface I used it on. I would have liked to see the words “Off” and “On” on the trigger as it just makes it easier to identify whether the spray is off or on. After using the product, I noticed in very faint letters the word “stop” and a symbol for spray. They are very hard to see and would be much more effective in bold black print.

For my bathtub, I sprayed and let it sit on the tub for a few minutes before cleaning. It basically just needed a wipe down after that. I have hard water in my house and that really affects the tub and sink. It leaves a yellow stain where the water hits the tub or sink. While this spray lightened up the yellow stains, it didn't remove them completely. I needed to use my usual hard water stain remover product.

After using this bathroom spray, my tub and sink looked so good. They were clean and shined. This is definitely a product I would continue to use even though it couldn't remove hard water stains. I didn't really expect it to but was surprised that it lightened the stains up considerably.

Vim Power & Shine Multi-purpose Wipes

These wipes really work to clean and disinfect just about any surface. These wipes are the perfect moistness, they are not too dry nor are they dripping wet. They have an ocean fresh scent to them which makes them smell less like a cleaning product. The scent is fresh and clean.

I love the packaging with the resealable closure. This will ensure the product stays moist. The closure provides a tight seal unlike some products with this type of closure.

I used this product on multiple surfaces in my home. They were the perfect disinfecting product for cleaning commonly used surfaces like door knobs, light switches, telephones and remotes. At the time a household member had cold/flu symptoms and I cleaned the commonly used surfaces/items to prevent the spread of germs. I also found this product beautifully cleans and shines up faucets.

Overall, this product is perfect for quick cleaning and disinfecting jobs. I would definitely recommend this products to others and continue using it myself.

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil

I used this product on my freshly washed hair that was still damp. When I squirted the dry oil out onto my hands it felt really greasy and I wondered what it would do to my hair. The dry oil has a pleasant smell that I would describe as a spicy scent.

After applying the dry oil to my hair, I noticed my hair brush just glided through my hair and the product seemed to act like a detangler. As my hair air dried it was not heavy or weighed down. My hair felt silky to the touch and was soft. I also noticed my hair looked a little shinier than usual. My hair did not feel greasy or oily like I anticipated it feeling. The greasy feel of the product on my hands did absorb and left my hands feeling so soft and hydrated. I may be tempted to use this dry oil as a heavy duty moisturizer for my hands!

This is a product I would continue to use and would recommend it to others to try.

Dove Refresh + Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo

I have tried dry shampoo in the past but not the Dove brand. I like to flat iron my hair and not wash my hair for a few days so I can keep my flat ironed style. On the days I don't wash my hair, I use a dry shampoo to prevent my hair from looking oily and greasy.

This dry shampoo sprays easily from the can and is quite powerful. I did find that if I sprayed too close to my hair that I end up with a white residue ( I have dark blonde hair). I guess that happened to me as my sister told me parts of my hair looked white! So spraying a distance from the hair will prevent the white residue.

The dry shampoo kept my hair feeling fresh and clean and helped to prevent any greasy look. I did find that where I sprayed the dry shampoo that my hair felt a little dry and “crunchy” and it was not soft and smooth like the rest of my hair. Despite this fact I would still recommend this dry shampoo for in between washes. I would also purchase it in the future as Dove is an affordable brand and even more so when it comes on sale.
